Water being the purest form is considered the holy and the best one can offer to the God. It is the offering that everyone brings to the God in every monastry i went in ladakh. When standing in a temple, such offerings also remove disparities among rich and poor. I was delighted to see thsi aspect of culture of the buddhist in ladakh.

Wooden carvings used almost everywhere in ladakh. These pictures are from a monastry in Leh.
